What approach does the AI Act follow?

The EU’s AI Act takes a risk-based approach. It divides AI systems into the categories of minimal risk, limited risk, high risk, and unacceptable risk. Systems with unacceptable risks will be banned in the future, while all others will be subject to restrictions.

When did the AI Act go into effect?

The AI Act entered into force on August 1, 2024. From August 2, 2026, the draft law will be mandatory at the end of the transitional periods.
