The insurer Baden-Badener-Versicherung has once again decided in favour of SER. Bauhaus
BAUHAUS has enhanced the SER archive which it introduced in 1996, by adding DOXiS InvoiceMaster. This SER solution handles the complete incoming invoice process which can involve up to 6,000 invoices from 1,200 domestic and foreign suppliers on peak days. Just one day after an invoice is received, all goods invoices are entered, checked and posted and they can be authorised within the discount periods. The document data is automatically extracted and transferred to the invoice verification system and also to SAP R/3.

Over 100 customer advisers at Baur Versand can be contacted around the clock and they answer approximately 800,000 enquires per year. They are supported by the electronic customer workflow record based on DOXiS Workflow. In this way the advisers can usually give the requested information directly over the telephone. The handling of complaints has also been made much simpler and is quality-assured because the customer history can be seen at a glance in the electronic customer record. Letters from mailing campaigns are also stored so that they can be referred to immediately when a customer telephones.

SER has implemented a payment transaction archive for Commerzbank for cheque archiving. Up to 210,000 payment transaction documents from the cheque-processing system are handled electronically at the bank's processing centres. The SER payment transaction archive has been certified by the independent TüV Informationstechnik GmbH (TüViT). In a further project SER implemented electronic personnel records at Commerzbank, and is currently in the process of implementing electronic credit records.

Curanum AG in Munich demonstrates how greater efficiency can be achieved in the health sector. As a service provider for establishments that care for the sick and elderly, Curanum is modernising its accounting with electronic archiving and automated processing of incoming invoices by SER. In future, all 52 Curanum establishments across Germany will participate in an electronic invoice verification process.

The BP Plus Card division of BP uses DOXiS for digital processing of customer records and workflow management in the customer support department. During normal operations, in just 3 months 1.2 million pages of old records and active customer records were digitised, automatically classified and indexed using SERdistiller. In this way BP Plus Card is now able to achieve greater and faster growth with the same number of staff and the same level of service.

SER?s business partner Forbatec-Sungard has developed an intelligent email management system (EMMIE) for DiBA on the basis of the SERiMail email software. EMMIE supports the call centre in the e-service area of Direktbank by finding the right answer by means of sample emails. The solution has been in use since November 2002. The email processing speed has improved by 60% with EMMIE. The efficiency in mail processing has seen a long-term increase with a short ROI (12 months).

GEZ has been using SER solutions for years and in 2002 it upgraded its electronic archiving system with the latest archiving technology from SER so that customer enquiries could be processed more effectively. For this purpose the existing storage infrastructure was replaced in full by RAID systems with AIT tape libraries as a back-up system. All the archive material consisting of over 220 million documents ? 5 terabytes ? has been imported into the new system. Approximately 6.5 terabytes of data are now available to the staff online with DOXiS.

Hospitals located in Styria have been introducing electronic patient records in Austria since 1999. Graz university clinic and seven other district hospitals are already working productively with the document management solution from SER's DOXiS iECM Suite. The aim is to introduce electronic archives at all 20 hospital locations of KAGes's hospital association and to network them so that doctors have access to all the archived medical histories irrespective of location.

Every month LBV in Baden-Württemberg processes salaries for approximately 360,000 recipients, whereby a record is kept for each recipient. The SER solution is fully integrated into the KIS solution SAP IS-H*MED.
Ministerium der Finanzen des Saarlandes
Improved efficiency and stronger customer orientation were the objectives of the Saarland Finance Ministry. As resources were limited, a decision was made to adopt the SER e-records solution from Baden-Württemberg and to farm out the operation in its entirety to the larger federal state.

NewSource made a decision to introduce DOXiS Archive/DMS, BPM and SER InvoiceMaster. A social insurance organisation has received a boost for the handling of payment documents. At the regional health insurance fund for lower Austria there is a huge volume of paper with 41,000 operations. Checking contribution payments often became a marathon task. In order to accelerate the processes ? from automatic capture and validation of bank documents and transfer to the posting system to audit-proof archiving ? a solution from SER was called for.

The aim of the project at the Oettinger brewery group was to centralise the accounts payable and accounts receivable systems in Oettingen and to reduce the administration operations in the other branches. In particular, the idea was to cut the manual entry work for incoming invoices and incoming payment documents substantially. With a complete peace-of-mind package from SER, profine is updating its SER Archive with DOXiS evITA, archiving its email correspondence from Lotus Notes with the DOXiS eMail Center, accelerating invoice processing in the accounts payable department and creating additional capacity and flexibility in its storage hardware.
PVA
In just 120 working days SER transferred approximately 4.7 million insurance records from the Austrian employee and workers pension insurance offices by data migration to PVA's new shared DOMEA® solution. This solution makes it possible to monitor records across the whole of Austria from any of the 26 PVA locations. At the present time up to 3,700 PVA staff can retrieve pension records for approximately 4.7 million insured people and inspect the documents for the records already scanned in by the DOXiS scan solution.
Rheinland Versicherung
Intelligent software solutions from SER are used throughout the whole of the RheinLand Insurance Group whose head office is in Neuss. Over 1,000 staff at RheinLand Versicherung as well as their subsidiary companies ONTOS Versicherungen have been processing all documents that relate to contracts without the use of paper since the microfilm system was replaced. Each day up to 6,000 document pages are scanned, archived and logically linked with customer records in RheinLand Versicherung's information system.
RICHEMONT Northern Europe GmbH
RICHEMONT Northern Europe GmbH decided to go for an electronic DOXiS archive from SER. It is used in the finance and accounting department of the Munich-based sales organisation of the Richemont luxury goods group. There is a high degree of integration between the DOXiS archive and the SAP system and it serves the purpose of electronic storage of SAP data and scanned invoice documents. Documents are retrieved with the help of the integrated DOXiS SAP Viewer.
Rieter
Maschinenfabrik Rieter AG in Winterthur, Switzerland, decided on SER?s InvoiceMaster solution. With automation of the processing of incoming invoices, Rieter AG intends to substantially reduce the time taken to process supplier invoices and to reduce manual processing to a minimum. After an intensive selection process, the contract was awarded to SER because SER InvoiceMaster came top in fulfilling the requirements for a high degree of automation in invoice reading and in the transfer to SAP Business Workflow, and because the ECM specialist submitted the most attractive offer in terms of price and performance.
Rockwood Specialties Group GmbH
The Frankfurt-based manufacturer of speciality chemicals, Rockwood Specialities Group GmbH, decided on invoice processing, workflow and electronic archiving from SER's DOXiS iECM Suite. With DOXiS InvoiceMaster the company handles automated invoice capture and is also introducing an inter-state invoice verification workflow. The SER solutions are integrated into SAP R/3.

A new addition to SER's client portfolio is the Rotkäppchen champagne producer which decided to acquire a DOXiS archive to store their outbound SAP documents.

Fifty members of staff in the accounting department at Rudolf Haufe Verlag will soon be processing incoming invoices in a completely new way. With SER InvoiceMaster, manual operations such as data entry will be automated and invoice verification will be controlled by workflow. In this way the company will achieve a reduction in processing times, improved process security and transparency of information throughout the organisation.
SAG Holding GmbH
The starting gun has been fired for the move into Enterprise Content Management at SAG Holding GmbH: the service provider for manufacturing and supply companies will initially automate the processing of incoming invoices with DOXiS InvoiceMaster and store invoices in DOXiS Archive. Further projects will follow based on the DOXiS iECM modules for records management and email archiving.
Saint Gobain Sekurit
Electronic archiving with solutions from SER will soon be in use in various departments at Saint Gobain Sekurit Deutschland, the automotive glass specialist. In departments such as bookkeeping, controlling and procurement, sales and the technical department, a wide range of different documents and data formats will be stored securely in DOXiS Archive and made available for everyday work.
SEW-EURODRIVE
The drive technology specialist SEW-EURODRIVE receives several hundred thousand assembly orders per year. With the help of an electronic DMS and archive from SER, the microfilm operation for documents has been discontinued and orders are now captured the day they arrive with minimal human input, thanks to an extremely high degree of automation.
Siegwerk Druckfarben AG
The aim of the project is to organise, co-ordinate and automate workflow- and record-controlled processes from inbound mail to legally secure long-term archiving with the help of a DMS. The system must comply with the principles of orderly electronic bookkeeping systems (GoBs). The core process in phase 1 is the electronic processing of incoming invoices, from scanning in incoming invoices to the posting of invoices in the background which is to be integrated seamlessly into the existing IT environment without any interface difficulties.
Sonepar Deutschland Information Services GmbH
The electronics wholesaler Sonepar Deutschland decided on an all-in-one GDPdU solution from SER (GDPdU = regulations for data access and auditability of digital documents). The Sonepar Deutschland Group, which consists of four service companies and six regional distribution companies in Germany alone, requires an all-in-one GDPdU solution which is able to archive all tax-relevant data from all types of upstream systems and connected systems in an analysable form and then make them available for electronic tax audits. The systems which contain data relevant for audits include applications for financial accounting and asset accounting and for distribution accounting.
Sozialverband Deutschland
The federal office of the Sozialverband Deutschland decided on the DOXiS Archive from SER with associative search function. The intelligent retrieval technology is integrated in the SER Archive and facilitates freely formulated search queries for finding documents. The Sozialverband will first deploy the associative search function in the editorial department to allow retrieval of archived magazine articles. The retrieval method will later also be used for contracts and minutes management.
Spedition Stähler
The freight company Stähler, located in Elz, decided on SER archive software and also took up the offer of a storage solution. Eleven workstations are equipped with SER software. Consequently, staff no longer have to search for paper records; instead they can display the required documents on the screen at the touch of a button.
SPITZKE AG
Within the framework of their digitisation strategy for all functions for the whole company, SPITZKE AG has introduced automated processing of incoming invoices with electronic archiving from SER. The company, which specialises in rail systems, has reduced processing times and is achieving greater transparency in accounting operations. Doxis InvoiceMaster is integrated with the industry solution BAU financials from Nemetschek.
Stadtwerke Flensburg
The public utilities in Flensburg decided on DOXiS InvoiceMaster for the automation of invoice processing which is closely integrated with the SAP component SAP FI and the industry solution SAP for Utilities (SAP IS/U). The SER solution achieved automation of up to 95 % in financial accounting. The documents are captured, verified and posted automatically without user intervention. Whereas manual entry and posting of an invoice document used to take up to 10 minutes, DOXiS InvoiceMaster carries out the process in less than one minute.
Steuerverwaltung Baden-Württemberg
Archiving tax notices and other tax-relevant information and being able to access it quickly ? that was the project undertaken by the regional government in Baden-Württemberg. It has been achieved with the intranet portal of the new DMS from SER, which kills two birds with one stone: cost savings and increased productivity as well as better service for customers/citizens.
STRABAG
The international construction group STRABAG is active in all areas of the construction industry. A core element of its European IT infrastructure is DOXiS iECM Archive from SER which has been integrated seamlessly into the group's core commercial application. The main area of operation is the archiving of printout files (spool files) from the commercial administration software and image archiving of incoming invoices, cash journals, records for physical devices and contracts - approximately 34 million documents since 1994.

Trelleborg Sealing Solutions is introducing legally compliant and audit-proof archiving based on DOXiS Archive and is automating the processing of incoming invoices with DOXiS InvoiceMaster. Implementation of the SER solution is starting in the accounting department. The plan is for a central, comprehensive system which provides greater transparency of information and accelerates invoice processing.
Unfallkasse Post und Telekom
The accident insurance fund Post and Telekom (UK PT) is changing its system for document archiving: instead of microfilm the organisation is now implementing electronic archiving with an integrated signature component from SER?s partner OpenLimit. The lead system is the application software CUSA (computer-supported administration) and the SER archive is integrated with this. The second step involves comprehensive optimisation and automation of business processes using workflows and electronic records.
Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf UKE
Quality is the top priority: this has always been the motto of the university clinic Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE). Approximately 10 members of staff of UKE now look after quality management for the clinics, institutes and laboratories. Digital QM Book from SER is now being introduced for the updating and publication of over 60 quality management manuals in the UKE's sphere.

Answering customer enquires even faster, whether they reach the customer centre by letter, fax or email ? this was the aim of the customer centre at BEWAG in Berlin, a subsidiary company of Vattenfall Europe AG. With the automated processing of incoming invoices with the DOXiS Inbound Center, the customer centre's inbound mail is captured electronically, sorted automatically according to the content of letters and forwarded according to the process.

This Berlin-based medical organisation is optimising its bookkeeping processes. With SER solutions for automated processing of incoming invoices and an electronic archive from SER, the largest municipal hospital company in Germany has instigated a campaign to cut administration costs in the accounts payable department. In addition, with DOXiS Records Management contract records with no link to SAP are to be archived and managed as well.
WestLB
Better customer service with significant cost reductions through streamlining and automation of processes ? this is what WestLB is achieving by using the process-oriented complaints management system from SER in the Sparkassen Informatik (SI) computer centre. DOXiS Workflow and inbound processing are used in domestic and foreign electronic payment transactions, particular for automatic, content-based analysis of SWIFT datasets, including the user-defined text fields.
